26 Wild Sights People Spotted on Google Street View

Google Street View can take you to just about anywhere in the world with a few keystrokes, offering a glimpse of what life is like a few blocks over or across the globe. But the ambitious project of capturing virtually every corner of earth has produced some unintended results: namely, Google can never predict who is going to be out on the roads when their cameras are on — or what they’ll be doing.
One Redditor was using Google Maps to keep track of their kayaking journey, marking places on local rivers that they rode through. During the process, they zoomed in on a stretch of river and noticed a pair of bright red and neon green kayaks that belonged to the Redditor and his dad. As it turns out, they had traveled through that river years prior and it was captured by Google.
Other Redditors have shared the fascinating discoveries they’ve made while combing through Google Street View, including a lone couch in the middle of the Sahara, a lost relative forever memorialized and evidence of a grisly murder.
