55 of the Funniest Burns from the Week of December 8, 2025
Once again, an ad interrupted everyday life.
Apple TV sent a woman straight to the hospital after advertising a show on her fridge. A bit much, right? Sometimes brands really need to know when to stop.
Carol, a woman from the UK, thought she was experiencing a psychotic episode after a Samsung ad allegedly made her feel disconnected from reality. Her sibling posted on Reddit: ‘My schizophrenic sister hospitalized herself because she thought she was having a psychotic episode’.
After the incident, Apple TV created a new ad apologizing to Carol. The Samsung screen displayed the message: ‘We’re sorry we upset you, Carol,’ while promoting the new series Pluribus. That might not be the best way to apologize.
Pretty quickly, people on Twitter started losing their minds over the idea of going to grab a sandwich and being greeted by an ad on their fridge. One user wrote, ‘Why do we need a smart fridge, and why do we need a screen just so we can get ads on it?’ And honestly, those are all valid questions.
So maybe we all need a bit of disconnection from the virtual world or at least from unnecessary screens.
Meanwhile, this week people on Twitter decided to get highly judgmental. The funniest burns include stainless steel pans, a weird truth about Stuart Little, and a Barbarian themed Airbnb.
