By no means is Friends considered body horror, but an injury David Schwimmer sustained while filming the long-running sitcom was “genuinely frightening.” In a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the actor described an incident that took place during the Season Three episode “The One with the Jam,” where Matt LeBlanc was “supposed to do a kind of pratfall,” but ended up dislocating his shoulder. Schwimmer recalled that after the gag, LeBlanc “went totally white, and he stood up, and I could see his shoulder was out. He looked like he was going to pass out.”
Schwimmer considers himself a horror fan, and has played characters who are immersed in grisly situations, but he says that chilling moment with LeBlanc was actually scary.
Elsewhere, Kieran Culkin has fessed up to being a “naughty young actor.” A few years ago, Mark Ruffalo shared that someone got him high on stage by switching a prop joint for the real deal during a 2000 production of The Moment When. Culkin recently told The Guardian that he was “17 and stupid” when he performed the prank. While the source of the switch-up wasn’t disclosed to the public before now, Culkin did note that he came clean during intermission to Ruffalo, who was surprisingly enjoying his unexpected high.
