The jolly final week officially kicked off today, and we’re fully in the spirit.

There are thousands of Christmas movies and countless versions of Santa Claus, but there’s one particular take we’re looking forward to seeing brought back to life on the big screen.

It sure seems like it’s been a while since we got a smash-hit, Santa-centric Christmas comedy film that showcased the talents of a stand-up comedian who is primarily known for entertaining adults.

With the movie business struggling, it feels like the perfect time for a blockbuster Christmas comedy and it all starts with casting the right Santa. We’ve got a suggestion: Jim Gaffigan.

Our pitch? A full-on, self-deprecating Santa Claus, powered by Gaffigan’s stand-up persona. The most memorable Santas aren’t the ones who feel like mall stand-ins. Audiences prefer a Santa who’s a little less saint.
