Dating is an ever-changing road map of deranged experiences. In some cases, the outcomes are predictable: the person ends up being married, or has a secret child, or “isn’t looking for anything serious,” which usually means they just got divorced.

There are other circumstances, however, that are completely unpredictable. A Redditor remembered the time she went on a few Tinder dates with a guy who “seemed really nice,” but noted that he would “always say something odd” when they were together. On their first date, she went to the restroom, and when she came back, he said, “It’s cool that you go to the bathroom and leave your bag on the table with a complete stranger.” 

After making a mental note of not leaving him alone with her bag again, she decided to give him another chance. This time, he said, “I didn’t have a date for a family wedding, so I went with my cousin. We kissed practically all night, people looked at us a lot.” 

There was no way for her to see that coming, and given a series of options, she likely wouldn’t have pegged him as a cousin-kisser that early in the game.
