20 Times People Found Their Craigslist Missed Connection

Though Craigslist is now mostly known for sketchy meetups and murder scandals, there was a time when people posted their way to meeting a flame or, in some cases, the love of their life. For instance, one Redditor’s friend posted about a guy she saw at the bus stop, and his boss ended up seeing the post and forwarding it to him. Several years later, they got married, and the friend keeps a screenshot of the missed connection on her phone as a memento of the beginning of the relationship.

Other Redditors have remembered the times they made memories through the “missed connections” tab, including one guy who found his cheating ex on there. Hang in there, buddy!

Quinntissential 6y ago I have a good friend that met this guy at a bus stop, I believe. They chatted casually for a few minutes and that was the end of it. Later, my friend was kicking himself for not asking the guy out for coffee or something and posted a missed connection about it. About a week later, bus stop guy's boss was browsing missed connections and recognized the description of the guy's hat so he sent him the posting. And now, several years later, my friend and bus stop guy are married. My friend still has a screenshot
TheClicheMovieTrope 6y ago Edited 6y ago My husband and I met on missed connections. We're no longer married. Edit: Alright, here's the story, which I hesitated to tell because my ex frequents Reddit. It wasn't really a missed connection in the sense that one of us saw the other and posted about it. I had just moved to a new area and hadn't met many people, yet, so to entertain myself (I had yet to hear about Reddit) I would post clearly joke (I was not subtle) missed connections. The post he responded to was me looking for Waldo. Не
euancmurphy 6y ago Edited 6y ago My friend was carrying her groceries on a busy subway from Manhattan to Queens and this guy gave up his seat for her. They didn't chat, but locked eyes a few times and as the guy got off, my friend said they smiled and laughed at each other. After she got home her roommate told her to post on missed connections, but when she went on the guy had already posted about her! They dated for a short while, but he then got back together with an ex he'd met through АА. + 2.3K

PokePounder 6y ago Edited 6y ago Went to see an oddly specific show. Outside, and then all throughout the evening inside, this very tall, but strikingly beautiful woman kept making prolonged eye contact with me. I was with some friends in a different city, and they wanted to leave the bar right after the show, so I didn't get a chance to talk to her. That week, back home, I posted a MC in her city, and she responded. It didn't really go anywhere, but she shared her SuicideGirls profile with me that had some nudes, so there's that... +
11y ago Ooh, me! About five years ago, I wrote an ad directed to a very attractive man that I saw almost daily during my commute home on the train. Не was always working on the day's crossword puzzle (as was I). Не actually replied via another Missed Connections ad, and the next time I saw him on the train we struck up a conversation. We got each other's phone numbers and began to hang out; he lived nearby and had a lot of the same interests. Не was hilarious, so intelligent, and very kind - but I unfortunately fucked it
hairy_cock 11y ago Yes. I was spending the summer with some friends in another city, and we went to some indy type venue. I struck up a conversation with this cute hipster Chinese chick, but we didn't exchange numbers or anything. She posted my exact description on MC and the venue. I responded and it resulted in quite a fun summer fling. We even fucked outside a convent on a bench. Fun times. + 35 ...
Mack116 11y ago Some guy posted one for me. We had about two dates, some bad sex and never spoke to him again. WINNER. + 114 ...
VomitEverywhere 11y ago E Edited 11y ago Yes. While working in a coffee shop, a couple of regular customers, both female, walked up to the counter giggling and exclaiming, Someone has a crush on you!. One laid a piece of paper with an ad printed on it describing me and how I always brighten this woman's morning. I responded to the ad when I got off of work. We met for coffee. We fell in love and lived together for two+ years. It was probably the best relationship I ever had, and I did almost nothing to find it. now
11y ago Yes. I was stuck in traffic and there was a beautiful girl in the next lane. We traded smiles and I waved as I exited, hoping she'd follow. Four days later I posted a Missed Connections on CL and she answered within a half hour, describing both of our cars. Met the next day for drinks, instant crazy chemistry. Went out a few more times when she was in town. She was absolutely amazing in bed. The CL ad was a long shot but so glad I tried it. + 171 ...
SaucyFingers 11y ago My buddy used to use Missed Connections as a way to meet women. He'd submit a generic post that could be applicable to a ton of women. He'd ask them to submit a pic as proof and then would just contact the best looking ones. + 43 ...
sewdek 11y ago One time a guy got on my crowded commuter train with a flat tire on his bicycle. Не started to change it but discovered that he had the wrong type of tube and it wouldn't fit. I had a spare tube, and could safely get home as the train stops right near my apartment, so I gave it to him. Не was really grateful and wanted to pay, but didn't have any cash. Tubes are cheap, and I've had other bikers stop and help me, so I told him to keep it. Cyclists often pay it forward!
JeffVadr 11y ago Well, when I had concerns that my ex was cheating on me I Googled a Halloween party that she went to. I saw a few pics of her in her naughty police woman outfit. Didn't seem that bad, but when I went back to the Google search two results down was a craigslist missed connection link. Clicked it, found it was some guy looking for that naughty police woman that he hooked up with at that party. I printed the page, confronted her, she tried to lie and we broke up. TL;DR craigslist helped catch my cheating

sigh_ko 6y ago it was new years eve and i was having a horrible night. i couldn't get a cab from the house party i was at to get to party#2. i was wearing massive heels and had to walk all the way home because i was in too bad a mood to continue my night. as i reached my corner, a super drunk, super gorgeous guy came up to me and wished me a happy New Year's. i was about to tell him to fuck off but i noticed that he was freaking beautiful and had a small bloody
10per 6y ago My step brother posted missed connection for a girl he saw when he was at traffic court. She was there for a speeding ticket just like he was so he thought he had a good meet cute story. She responded to his ad with a polite thanks but no thanks. Не did end up meeting his wife on Craigslist a few months later, but just by posting a regular ad though. 149 ...
i_am_umbrella 6y ago I found a missed connections from a mall describing me (mostly my tattoos). I replied and was surprised to find out she was a woman and said she thought I'd be more likely to find her post in the male looking for female section. Obviously she was right. Never met up with her but did receive some unsolicited boob photos. Didn't hate it. 54 ...
MinnieCastavets 6y ago I had two missed connections written about me. I remembered exactly who wrote each one, and checked the missed connections because I wondered if they'd write one. I wasn't interested in either dude, but I just wanted to see if they would. One of them I wrote to because he was a cool guy, but we never met again or anything. We became Facebook friends. The other one I didn't write to because I didn't want to start shit with him or have to come up with excuses not to meet up with him. There was no
moonspyke 6y ago I was asked to dance at a club one night when I was just about to go out for a smoke. When I came back inside, she was gone. Posted a missed connections and heard back from her the next day. We went on a date a week later and she turned out to be a fairly poor conversationalist and we had basically nothing in common. + 58 ...
sillybanana2012 6y ago I met someone from a missed connection. Once we met, I realized that I didn't have any romantic interest in this person, and he didn't have any in me. But, we became pretty good friends! We were even roommates one year when I was in university. Even now when we both have our own SO's, we still like to get coffee and catch up. He's a really awesome person! + 1.1K ...
