Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis has been riddled with drama, and its recent trailer release has been no different. Lionsgate capitalized on the fact that the controversial auteur’s latest film is already polarizing with critics by releasing a trailer full of quotes criticizing other entries in Coppola’s iconic filmography. The only issue? Some Google-happy sleuths discovered that the “quotes” criticizing Apocalypse Now and The Godfather were entirely fabricated — with some negative quotes even attributed to critics who liked the films. The studio has since pulled the trailer and apologized for the “inexcusable error in (its) vetting process.”

Sources say that the two actors are in talks to star in a comedic reimagining of the 1997 horror classic starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson. The project has been circling the swamp since last year, with Columbia Pictures going through several rewrites to strike the right tone. The final product is now in the hands of The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’s Tom Gormican and his frequent collaborator Kevin Etten.
Over on the timeline, the comedians are slithering to the forefront yet again. Today’s funniest tweets include those about a horny senator, establishments that don’t take grammar into consideration and the chilling question of Alien.
