30 of the Dumbest Times Customers Demanded to Speak to the Manager

‘Soda went flat a week after he opened it’
30 of the Dumbest Times Customers Demanded to Speak to the Manager

There are times in our stupid little lives when we have to ask for a manager’s assistance. But before we get all huffy about it, we should definitely make sure we’re not in the wrong. Otherwise, you end up being the dumbass asking for a refund on a bottle of soda because it went flat a week after you opened it. Everyone in the store would be well within their right to laugh in your face, and maybe even make a mockery of you over the in-store PA system.

Reddit’s most patient retail associates have remembered the disgruntled dummies they’ve had to deal with on the other side of the counter, and a lot of these situations make a good case for making stupidity illegal.

VforFivedetta 11y ago I make an announcement over the store's loudspeaker saying that I will give out free gifts at the counter in 2 minutes if you come to to watch a demo, no catch. But it's one per customer, please don't take another one if you already got yours. I do the demo, hand out the gifts. A lady asked if she could have another one for her sister. Sure, I don't give a shit. Happy to oblige. She wanted to speak to my manager because I was lying to customers about gift availability. 44 Share ...
11y ago One lady demanded to speak to the owner of a grocery store I worked at to make a false advertising complaint... because the mozzarella cheese in the flyer had white packaging and red text and the one on the shelf (same brand, same price and had a sale sign on it mind you) had red packaging and white text. illini02 5y ago I was young and my mom and step dad took us to McDonalds. Somehow a nail or something got stuck in the tire which caused a flat. I'm not sure if it happened in the lot or not, but they were convinced it was. They went to talk to the manager. I don't remember exactly what their demands were, but they didn't get them. They literally went into the street waving people away saying that they were closed because they were mad. It just seemed like a ridiculously excessive thing to do. 340 Share ...
PersonMcNugget 11y ago I worked at a salon, part of a large chain that is popular for having relatively cheap prices. Because of this, some of the clientele can be on the sketchy side. This one guy came for a haircut. The stylist asked if he wanted his sideburns buzzed. Не said yes. Later that day, he called and demanded to speak to the manager. Не threatened to sue us for shaving his sideburns off...which he had agreed to have done. The manager told him his sideburns were probably still in the bin at the back, and he was welcome
judochop1 11y ago I was working a Sunday at Tesco. Usually the customers are understanding, don't mind a laugh and what not and easy to get on with. Some middle-aged woman asked me if I enjoy working there, I said meh, s'alright and she went straight to my manager! Saying I've got an attitude problem :/ Despite me helping her pack, smiling, being very polite. Total bitch. 12 Share ...

I_the_mighty 11y ago This one guy threw a fit because he had to wait in line. I saw him get in line and not two minuets later he SCREAMED that the lines were too long. Everyone looked at him and the place went silent. The best part was that it was a Monday our slowest day of the week. Не ended up waiting all of another minute to check out and demanded to see the manager and they talked for 15-20 minutes before the guy left. So why was he in such a hurry he couldn't wait 5 minutes in
chaseonfire . 11y ago I was a manager at a five guys, one customer complained that we talk over the food and that it's unsanitary because spit might come out of our mouths. Another time a guy sent his burger back 4 times for being raw. I don't think it was even one time but by the 4th time I placed it at the top of the grill in grease and burned it. Still complained its undercooked. Some people are just morons. 20 Share ...
Rfwill13 11y ago I worked at a CVS that didn't get much business. We just opened and 10 mins in, an older gentlemen walked in and went to get a small chocolate milk. I rang it up and it was $1.17. bl_k 11y ago I had a customer storm up to me and demand to see the manager because the nutritional value of the apple juice from concentrate was blocked by a price sticker. The crux of her complaint was that the juice was too sweet for her kid.
Winendinen69 11y ago I worked at Nordstrom Rack for only 3 months... I couldn't handle it. But when an item is returned, it comes up in parentheses. Let's say you returned a $19.99, it would come up as ($19.99) This woman kept accusing me that I was charging her for a shirt that she was returning. I was trying to be as calm as I could, without cunt punting her. But she was raising hell and making a scene, demanding to see my boss. Yeah, I put in my 2 weeks a couple of days after that 23 Share ...

WarElephantOnParade 11y ago I work at Subway. I was making this guy a sandwich and I asked him what kind of cheese he wanted. Не responds with If I wanted to make my own sandwich I would get a job here and make it myself. 000-000-000yea 7y ago At Red Lobster someone grabbed the manager and told him his shrimp was cold, wanted a free beer, and he could get better fish by fishing. Caliblair 7y ago I worked at an independent chocolate shop that sold various flavors of truffles, brownies and drinks.. We had non dairy options, vegan options and nut free options. A woman demanded to speak to the manager because we did not have a dairy free, nut free, sugar free, vegan option. Luckily the owner literally just laughed and said We do have one it's called water. I have never seen such entitled rage. 2.8K Share ...
psychswot 5y ago I was with my parents on vacation and the hotel put charges on the bill by accident. My mom marched to the front desk and demanded to see the manager. There was a long line, but she cut right in front of it. The manager wasn't very helpful, probably because she was rude. So my mom, went to all the other customers in line and told them that the hotel was a scam and they were ripping us off with fake charges. She made a scene. The hotel called the police and we were escorted off the

snopal 5y ago Not my parent but grandparent. When I was around 10 years old my grandmother went out and got us (her, my brother, and me) McDonald's. We got home and we didn't have napkins in the bags. No big deal, right? We have paper towels and napkins in the house, also me and my brother are pretty good with not making any messes while we eat. Nope. Grandmother got us in the car, drove back to McDonald's, demanded a manager, and screeched about how upset she was that we didn't get any napkins. I wanted to just melt
Deminla E 5y ago Before Value Village (Savers in the States I think) changed policies, she would cut tags to get discounts since the cashiers would basically make up whatever price they thought it would be, on the spot. If they high balled it, she would get a manager involved and I hated that. 16K Share ...
ohhellnoxd 5y ago Edited 5y ago When I was a young child on a long distance flight my mother let me and my brother sleep on the floor. For safety reasons the flight attendants told my mother that we were not allowed to sleep on the floor. She started to argue with the flight attendants who then turned to the pilots. The pilots threatened to turn the plane around unless we get up from the floor but she continued to argue. The pilots anounced they were about to turn around because of my mother, so all the passangers got pissed.
