If South Park’s two-year hiatus wasn’t enough to prove that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are taking it slow these days, the newly-released trailer for the show’s 27th season just might sell you. After seeing the teaser, which features already-dated gags about colliding commercial planes and gloating Europeans, fans began questioning whether these older jokes meant that South Park had ditched its documentary-inspiring 6 Days to Air production model. “Three months out will be kind of dated for Diddy and bird flu jokes if they actually produce episodes like those shown here,” observed one Redditor.
As South Park fans debated the timeliness of their beloved animated series, Bill Burr had some questions of his own, and took a few nosy reporters to task for grilling him on inflammatory topics while attending pal Conan O’Brien’s Mark Twain Prize acceptance. “You’re a journalist! That’s weak,” the comedian told a reporter who asked him about Elon Musk. “That’s you guys passing the buck. You guys need to have balls again, which you don’t.”
Reporters may be lacking chutzpah, but several folks on the timeline have the balls to be uproariously funny. Just take a look at these hilarious tweets, the funniest of which involve the perfectly-paced fall of Rome, what DEI actually stood for and the struggles of ordering at The Cheesecake Factory.
