21 World-Changing Decisions Made by One Single, Solitary Guy

Big decisions are scary, which is why they tend to be made by more than one person. In fact, the bigger the decision, the more people tend to be involved in making it. That’s why we have things like stockholders meetings and elections. Could you imagine if someone knocked on your door to inform you that it was up to you to choose the next president? That’s the plot of a Kevin Costner movie, and the only Kevin Costner movie that should be reality is Sizzle Beach, U.S.A.

Still, sometimes it’s up to one person to change the course of history. They might understand the weight of their responsibility, or they might never be aware of the repercussions of their actions. Whatever the case, the butterfly effect is just as strong whether it’s a flap of the wings or the whims of a dude.

That’s why user MisterDecember asked r/AskReddit, “What decision by a single person had the biggest impact on human history?”
