While it’s obvious that comedians can’t save us from our hellscape reality, it’s become increasingly clear that if we did have a savior, it wouldn’t be Jimmy Fallon.
Following an insufferable display with Taylor Swift on the apolitical Tonight Show, we learned that Fallon would be involved with another milquetoast program at NBC: a Wordle game show. When this news made its way to Twitter, people didn’t pass up the chance to throw fists at one of their favorite punching bags.
“Well you know what they say! Strike when the iron’s cold and has been stored in the cupboard for several years!” commented one Twitter user, joining numerous others who recoiled at the idea.
That said, Fallon wasn’t alone in getting fried this week. Other digital burn victims included Travis Kelce, NYX Cosmetics and a fan of Rasheed Wallace.
