Everyone loved John Candy, but Martin Scorsese loved him so much that he considered him for a starring role in Goodfellas.
While promoting John Candy: I Like Me, Chris Candy told Hats Off Entertainment that his late father was sought after for two dramatic roles. In addition to being sent the script for Pulp Fiction, Candy also went as far as to screen test for Goodfellas. It’s unclear which role his father was up for, but Chris recalls seeing footage of his father “looking like a tough kind of gangster guy,” and thought about how different his career trajectory would’ve been had he gotten the role.
Speaking of career trajectory, Chris Distefano was so pleased with the Riyadh Comedy Festival that he wants to move to Saudi Arabia. After 10 hours in the country, Distefano said he was “loving it” and wanted to “start another family” in the Middle East. Former fans replied by telling him not to spend all of his blood money in one place.
