31 of the Most Confusing Reasons People Were Bullied
The entire conceit of the title of both this article and the AskReddit thread it was born from isn’t necessarily accurate. When you talk about the reason someone was bullied, it’s always the same: because someone needed to feel powerful. The target, subject and wording are all unpleasant but ultimately nothing more than decoration.
Not that knowing all that will make anyone feel better about it. Bullying is still a truly ugly bit of natural human behavior, and it’s especially bad among younger people, probably because of a special combination of panic, confusion and frontal lobes that aren’t quite done yet. These stories are proof that bullying doesn’t even necessitate anything especially notable, just one highly unhappy person looking to spread it to another.
