The Naked Gun’s snowman isn’t a Muppet, but he’s still very much related to Kermit the Frog.
Director Akiva Schaffer recently revealed that he was always set on having “a person in a suit” play the film’s horniest character, and tapped the late Jim Henson’s Henson Company to bring the thirsty snowman to life. “A CG snowman is what everyone assumed it had to be right off the bat, and we kept going, ‘No no no, it has to be a puppet,” he explained, noting that the Muppet makers “did such a good job” crafting the costume.
Meanwhile, Devon Walker is clarifying how Saturday Night Live can be “toxic as hell.” The comedian cited communication as one of the series’ weak points, and noted that SNL could use “a sprinkle of humanity” in keeping cast members informed about the status of their jobs. “The show won’t tell them all summer and then will ultimately end up firing them when there’s been months of them trying to work their situation out,” he explained, adding that while this didn’t happen to him, he’d seen it happen to others.
