Shifting Gears isn’t just for Republicans.
Kat Dennings, who stars in the series alongside Tim Allen, spoke to Deadline about the show’s conservative reputation, saying she “wouldn’t agree” with the Wall Street Journal’s take that Shifting Gears is only for those in red states. “I can understand why, because there’s a conservative viewpoint from Tim’s character, but I think the fun of the show is the dynamic between Tim’s character and my character because they have completely opposing viewpoints,” Dennings explained. “It’s about how they navigate that in their relationship.”
As Dennings argues that Dems can also enjoy her sitcom, the Pentagon is apparently trying its hand at gatekeeping Golden Girls, scrubbing sitcom star and former U.S. Marine Bea Arthur from its website. Arthur, who served during World War II years before gracing our TV screen as Dorothy Zbornak, has apparently had a page honoring her service removed from defense.gov. She is the latest notable figure to be erased from government websites amid the ongoing DEI sweep.
There are, however, still tiny scraps of good left in the world. Case in point? These hilarious tweets, which span the joys of shawarma, the proper response to receiving bad copper and the feat of surviving the Jay Leno hill.
