51 of the Funniest Tweets from the Week of February 17, 2025

It’s been a busy week. Christopher Nolan’s star-studded adaptation of The Odyssey is in production, and the internet got its first glimpse of Matt Damon as the titular character. It’s unfortunate that this is currently the only image to promote the film, because according to some experts, the inaccurate costuming is akin to “fifteen 9/11s.” In fact, it turns out that Seth MacFarlane presented a much more accurate depiction of ancient Greek armor in a Family Guy episode. Take notes, Nolan!
Meanwhile, some more information has rolled in ahead of Conan O’Brien’s debut as Oscar host. With just a week of prep left, anonymous sources have shared what they know about O’Brien’s hosting stint — namely, that the comedian’s take on the job will be grounded by recent real-life events that include him losing his parents late last year and the L.A. wildfires.
And it was another week of John Cleese returning to Twitter after promising time and time and time again that he was done with the platform. His latest return was prompted by Joe Rogan’s ill-advised take on Canadian current events. Cleese fired up the app and tweeted, “If Joe Rogan was better informed, he’s (sic) lose a lot (sic) listeners.” Cleese v. Rogan sets up a battle that no one was asking for, but may be entertained by nonetheless.
The week, of course, was also full of great tweets. The funniest included those about eldest daughter behavior, a woman’s biggest nightmare and an ancient tradition adapted to the streaming era.
