Although Joel McHale’s upcoming turn on Yellowjackets has yet to air, the comedian has already boarded another horror project — and a rather iconic one at that. According to Deadline, McHale has joined the Scream franchise as Mr. Final Girl, aka the husband to Neve Campbell’s iconic Sidney Prescott. It’s casting news that hit the timeline to varying degrees of acceptance. But however you may feel about the sardonic actor going up against Ghostface (or perhaps donning the mask himself), one Twitter user noted that the new role is yet another example of how McHale will “do anything but be Jeff Winger again.” 

Sorry, Community fans. Surely that movie will come eventually. 

McHale’s aversion to returning to Greendale Community wasn’t the only thing getting roasted online this week, though. Among the other things receiving a skewering were a needlessly buff paleontologist, ambient music and a face right out of Grand Theft Auto IV.
