The cast of FX’s You’re the Worst reunited at Vulture Fest for their first Sunday Funday in five years. Creator Stephen Falk celebrated the dysfunctional rom-com’s 10th anniversary with stars Aya Cash, Kether Donohue and Desmin Borges, and expressed having some unresolved business after the show he intended to run for six seasons was unceremoniously capped at five. Donohue immediately pitched a limited series or film in the vein of Sex and the City, but Falk said nothing would happen without FX’s blessing — and more importantly, the network’s wallet.
While that gets sorted out, there’s one piece of television that will never happen: Maya Rudolph going on Hot Ones. Despite appearing on three fictional episodes of the YouTube series between her appearances on SNL and in a scene of her Apple TV+ series Loot, the actress shut down the idea of taking on the spicy challenge in real life. When he shot his Loot appearance, Hot Ones host Sean Evans told Rudolph that it would be a “nice full-circle thing” for her to appear on the web series, but she refused, saying “there is no way in fuh-UCK I’m ever eating those wings.” However, Rudolph did offer to “sit down” and “talk about whatever,” so maybe there will be a chicken-free episode of the show in the future.
