20 Strange Things Fishermen Pulled Out of the Water

Going fishing and expecting to catch a fish is a rookie mistake. While you’re aware you may catch nothing at all, you may also be surprised by the other treats and treasures that await you in the water — like half of a moped or a dead man’s wallet. These inedible trinkets obviously aren’t what you were hoping for, but they serve as a reminder to always expect the unexpected.

Redditors have remembered the times they cast a line and reeled in something that definitely wasn’t a fish, including quite a few items that are certainly cursed. To the guy who hooked a human head — this one’s for you.

Wood_Fish_Shroom 1y ago Half a moped. We were getting lures caught on this one specific spot under a bridge so we rigged a large metal hook and weight on some rope and tossed it until we caught something heavy. Took two people to dislodge it from the mud but when we finally got it up the seat had our lures and plenty of others so ended up being worth the effort. Moped was most likely stolen, had it's engine sawed off and the rest tossed overboard. + 60 Reply ...
Gillybilly 12y ago I was fishing with my Dad off the coast of Mallorca in Spain when I was about 15. It was really warm and we weren't catching anything much, so we got some snorkels and went for a swim around to see if we could see anything interesting, ( it was only about 20 feet deep). Around these cave-like rocks I spotted what looked like a dead body. I started trying to dive down, but I'm not a super strong swimmer so when I would get to about 10 feet away from it I would have to come back
