The United States of America is the land of opportunity, where anyone can be whatever they want, as long as they have rich parents or access to some kind of wealth. The United States of America is also the land of the free, but the requirements are pretty similar, so you'd better have some credit somewhere.
But even if opportunity and freedom are not really for everybody, most Americans still believe in the dream and try to take it to new heights all the time. You can dress however you want and go anywhere in the country to show you fit, even if it consists of almost nothing. You can go shopping in cosplay, even if it's not Halloween. You can sleep on a parking lot, inside a shopping cart, or by the pet food aisle in Walmart, because you're free.
