17 Movies Adapted From TV Shows That Were Major Stinkers

When it comes to adaptations, movies to shows and shows to movies have had their ups and downs.

Hmm, it seems like theres no true formula for success. Hollywood money-grabs are just big scary crap shoots, arent they?

Wed normally never revel in someone elses misfortune, but milking a bad movie out of a great show is definitely a misfortune-reveling offense in our book! Sorry you Hollywood fat cats couldnt make your pockets even fatter with these.

Car 54, Where Are You?

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM CAR 54, WHERE ARE YOU? AND CAN YOU STAY THERE? 308 It would be a stretch to say the original sitcom was beloved, but yep, they made a few seasons worth. The movie version adds Buster Poindexter and a couple hundred police cars crashing into vegetable stands. Somehow at 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It’s Pat the Movie

IT'S PAT THE MOVIE HASN'T AGED WELL CRACKED.COM AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING CONSIDERING IT WAS REVILED BACK IN THE DAY. PAT WAS ALWAYS UNLIKEABLE AND OBNOXIOUS, MAKING THE ANDROGYNOUS CHARACTER AN UNLIKELY MOVIE LEAD. ADD THE TONE-DEAF GENDER TAKE AND YOU GET ALL-TIME TERRIBLE.

My Favorite Martian

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM MY FAVORITE MARTIAN FINDS NO INTELLIGENT LIFE Christopher Lloyd as an alien weirdo? Sounds promising! But most of the humor consists of bits like Lloyd's Martian drinking the contents of a lava lamp. When people talk about space trash, they're probably referring to this movie.

Beverly Hillbillies

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM BEVERLY HILLBILLIES SMELLS LIKE DEAD POSSUM Everyone in the Clampett clan flipping the bird tells you all you need to know about this classy 1993 remake. It's the movie Entertainment Weekly called a laughless throwaway and one soggy noodle of a comedy.

George of the Jungle

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE GOT IN THE SWING OF THINGS For some reason, Brandon Fraser was the go-to guy for cartoon-to- comedy movies. Not only was he George (scoring as a goof who can talk to apes), he also starred in major dud Dudley Do-Right.

The Honeymooners

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM THE HONEYMOONERS SHOULD GO STRAIGHT TO THE MOON The Dallas Morning News said, The comedy wannabe has the lamest, most predictable banter of any recent movie. Other than that, The Honeymooners was pretty good.

The Ladies Man

THE LADIES MAN GOES DOWN LIKE BAD COURVOISIER CRACKED.COM TIM MEADOWS SEEMS LIKE A NICE GUY.

Bewitched

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM BEWITCHED WASTED MOVIE STAR MAGIC Unlike other sitcom-to-big-screen projects, Bewitched boasted superstars Nicole Kidman and WIII Ferrell. Unfortunately, the movie still sucked. By the tepid ending, says Newsweek, the movie appears to have been sedated.

Dragnet

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM DRAGNET IS THE ONE WHERE TOM HANKS RAPS Fine, Dragnet wasn't a sitcom. But it did get the big-screen comedy treatment with Tom Hanks and Dan Ackroyd. Hit up YouTube and watch the two stars do a very 80s rap. Is this where Chet Hanx got inspired for White Boy Summer?

Fat Albert

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM FAT ALBERT WAS KENAN'S LEADING MAN DEBUT Fat Albert and the junkyard gang spring out of a television set, becoming flesh and blood to cheer up a lonely high school girl. If you told us this was the plot of a horror movie, we'd nod and say, Yeah, sounds terrifying!

The Brady Bunch

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM THE BRADY BUNCH GOT SUBVERSIVE The BRaDY Bunch We'll defend The Brady Bunch Movie, a satircal look at a family stuck in the seventies. With a lusty neighbor determined to bed a Brady boy, this is enormous fun, one of the best TV adaptations to date.

Leave It to Beaver

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM LEAVE IT TO BEAVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEFT ALONE Just like the original, but with more bullying! Variety calls it fuzzily conceived and blandly executed. Nostalgia never felt so bland.

McHale’s Navy

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM MCHALE'S NAVY STARS ТОМ ARNOLD Really, what else do you need to know? Tom Arnold. As the lead in a movie. It's a movie starring Tom Arnold. Do not rent. Do not stream. Do not buy. This has been a Tom Arnold Alert. Woop woop woop.

The Flintstones

COMEDY NERD CRACKED.COM FLINTSTONES WAS A GRANITE BLOCK BUSTER With an all-star comedy cast headlined by John Goodman and Rick Moranis, The Flintstones was one of the biggest hits of 1994. That didn't stop Gene Siskel from saying the movie was about as much fun as watching a stone age.

Star Trek III

Christopher Lloyd STAR TREK III CRACKED.COM When the film came out in 1984, Lloyd was best known for his work on Taxi, which didn't exactly scream leading villain. It'd be like if Neo had to fight Kramer at the end of The Matrix.
