Not counting their short-lived stint as volunteers at Abbott Elementary last January, it’s been nearly two years since we properly caught up with the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia gang. But after waiting with bated breath, we finally know when Paddy’s Pub will reopen its grimy doors.
On Wednesday, the overlords of the long-running series headed to social media to tease the show’s upcoming 17th season, revealing — via embossed bar napkin — that the beloved sitcom will return to both Hulu and FXX on July 9th. “Stuff it down with some brown,” they captioned the bar-themed announcement, one complete with Beer Nuts and a nice, foamy pint you probably couldn’t get at Paddy’s.
The Always Sunny premiere date isn’t the only sitcom mystery that’s been solved over the past few days either. During a recent appearance on the Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know podcast, TV legend Rainn Wilson shared an Office secret with the beloved comedian: the (kinda) official lyrics to the sitcom’s instrumental theme song, with the first verse going a little something like this:
