Despite his impeccable comedy chops, certified Good GuyTM status and willingness to crawl ass-naked out of a leather couch during one fateful episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Danny DeVito has just one notable flaw: He, like all of us, isn’t immortal — a fact that the Paddy’s Pub crew apparently has yet to consider. “We’ll figure it out,” DeVito’s co-star Kaitlin Olson recently explained of how The Gang plans on handling the 80-year-old actor’s eventual death. “I don’t know what we’re going to do with him — or his body.”
As we hope The Gang doesn’t throw DeVito in the trash, we’re sure glad that’s what happened to the two awful Seinfeld spin-off ideas that Jason Alexander pitched after the sitcom’s 1998 finale. During a 2016 appearance on ID10T Podcast with Chris Hardwick, Alexander shared a pair of failed concepts he had for bringing Seinfeld characters back to airwaves: a legal comedy about Jackie Chiles and a series centering on Jerry’s and George Costanza’s parents.
“The number one that I thought, through the roof, would’ve been the four parents down at the condo in Florida. That would’ve been unbelievable,” Alexander recalled of his concepts. “I don’t think (NBC) ever looked at it.”
