50 of the Funniest Tweets from the Week of February 24, 2025

This past week, the man behind the Merc with a Mouth proved to have quite the mouth himself. Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld popped up on the timeline to talk shop and said it’s “time to get Feige off the mound.” The tweet was spurred by Marvel’s latest Captain America film underperforming at the box office. Liefeld carried the sports analogy even further, likening Marvel to dynasties like the Lakers and Yankees, noting that if either of those teams experienced a similar “extended downside” that their leadership would be removed. Safe to say that he’s still feeling hurt about being disregarded at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere back in July.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. is waging its own war — this time with the state of Oklahoma. About 50 miles south of the state capital, the small town of Chickasha built a 50-foot statue of the infamous leg lamp from A Christmas Story. But the studio has been less than enthusiastic about the “unauthorized” landmark and demanded that the town destroy the statue by citing trademark violation.
Finally, just ahead of Shane Gillis’ return to Saturday Night Live, Bowen Yang had some things to get off his chest. Surprisingly, though, they weren’t directed at the controversial comedian. Instead, Yang’s trigger fingers got to work in an Instagram comment section after a former uncredited SNL extra labeled him a “whiny queen” who “bitched” to get Gillis off the show. Yang made sure to inform her that her suggestion of events was inaccurate and that he was responsible for writing the sketch she had the honor of appearing in.
Everyone on the timeline also spent the week typing away, and it led to some great tweets. This week’s funniest included those about a jukebox in desperate need of variety, God’s strongest soldiers and the potential source of your lower back pain.
