21 of the Most Reckless Acts People Have Witnessed

You can learn a lot about life by observing people who aren’t afraid to die. For instance, one Redditor’s father eats mushrooms from the backyard and believes in hosing out the toaster and hanging it outside to dry. While I can’t encourage that kind of behavior, it’s fascinating to find out that you can do those things and not only live, but go on to procreate.

Another Redditor has witnessed similar bouts of fearlessness. They were enjoying fresh air with a friend when a snake slithered up to them. Everyone started freaking out, but the Redditor’s friend grabbed the snake by the tail and hurled it into the brush Indiana Jones-style. He reasoned that like most snakes in the area, it wasn’t venomous. Later, though, they discovered that it was, in fact, venomous, and his daredevil heroism could’ve killed him.

Other Redditors have recalled the most reckless behavior they’ve seen firsthand, including a kid who repeatedly stapled his finger, someone throwing stones at moving trains and a girl who took her shoes off to clean up shattered glass.

Wtfshouldicallthis 8y ago I was on a holiday in Canada, we were in a national park there were bear warnings everywhere. Well one day we were out hiking, a man left his daughter and their food for a day on a bench he was about to take a photo. This was about 200 meters away from me. Well... a bear comes out of the bushes and starts going towards the girl I (it probably wanted the food). But the guy ran full pelt and put himself in front of his daughter, picked up most of the food and ditched it into
DarrenEdwards 8y ago I witnessed a neighbor, who was a huge cowboy, get impatient with the person trying to start the forklift. So he just lifted a barrel of oil from the ground to his truck in a way that didn't even scratch the paint on the truck bed. 146 ...

whitnit291 . 2mo ago I once witnessed a guy climb up a telephone pole and proceed to fry himself on roughly 12,000V of electricity. Happened in Portland, OR several years ago. 12 Reply ...
MisterBigDude 2mo ago This happened in an airport in pre-9/11 days, when security was much looser. A man was walking toward the scanner with a little girl (presumably his daughter). When they reached the scanning belt, he lifted her up and lay her down on the belt, laughing about it. After she went through the scanner, he lifted her back off. Some other people who had seen this started yelling at him; he and the girl just walked away. Meanwhile, the scanner screen displayed a creepy image of her skeleton. 81 Reply ...
8y ago My grandpa was pulling up fishing nets with his cane, and a jellyfish (the type that hurts) came along on board. Не grabbed a hold of it and jerked it out as if he was immune, he definitely was in contact with the stinging tentacles 150 ...
Bananawamajama 8y ago Some people were freaking out because a snake had wandered nearby, and they were worried about getting bitten. There's mostly nonvenomous snakes in out area, so my buddy walks up behind the snake, grabs it by the tail and swings it around before casually hurling it back into the brush. Не was subsequently informed by someone who recognized the snake type that that snake was in fact venomous. - 407 ...
AnonnEms2 2mo ago When I was a climbing guide I watched a guy free soloing, about eighty feet up the cliff when he fell. Не landed in the canopy of a tree growing from a ledge. The tree bent from his weight and deposited him on another ledge. Не climbed down, lit a cigarette, and walked away. 333 Reply ...
FarPerspective2810 2mo ago Pouring hot oil from a fryer that was just shut off into a plastic container. The container melts. They continue to pour the hot oil that is now running onto the floor and over the front of the dishwasher control panel, which also got ruined. Reply 163 ...
gweedle 2mo ago I was in a grocery store walking up to the self checkout area when a customer at one of the checkout stations accidentally dropped a six pack of beer bottles. Of course they smashed into a ton of broken glass shards all over the floor. The teenage girl working that area came over to clean it up and very calmly removed both of her shoes and placed them a safe distance away from the mess before starting to clean it up with a broom and dust pan while completely barefoot. At some point I did ask her
Bento_Fox 2mo ago | once saw someone pick up a rock and throw it as hard as he could at a moving train. Не was laughing as he went up close to the train before he chucked it. The rock ricocheted back and went straight into his shoulder. The guy went flying backwards and dropped to the ground holding his shoulder as though he'd been shot and then ran towards the medical clinic screaming the whole time. - 2.1K Reply ...
LuckyGhost77 2mo ago In fourth grade, our class is playing outside in the fields. Teacher warns us to stay away from the poison ivy on the fence. My classmate Tracy says, that ain't poison ivy and proceeds to pick leaves off and rub them on her face and arms. She was at school the next day but was unrecognizable due to the swelling and rash everywhere. - 333 Reply ...
Voltron1993 2mo ago Bobby in 2nd grade stapled his finger. Straight in and blood spurted out. Rushed out by teacher to the docs. Next day he comes into class with a bandaged finger. We asked him, did it hurt. Не says no. Then someone dares him to do it again, to prove it didn't hurt. Ol' Bobby, never one to shy away from a challenge, grabbed the stapler and slammed it down on his thumb. Staple stuck in and blood poured out. Не screamed and back to the ER he went. Bobby was dumber than shit. - 874 Reply ...

thismadhatter 13y ago When I was 7 my mom and I were at a car wash when I saw a dude cut off another guy and stole his car wash bay he'd been waiting for. They argued for about 3 mins, when all of a sudden one guy grabbed a wrench from his trunk and beat the guy until he was a bloody unconscious mess. Не came over to me and my mother screaming about how he was attacked first. My mother just replied We know, we saw everything, gave him a fake phone number to reach us at and
2y ago My grandad, when he was alive. Не was a sweet, humble old man who loved gardening but oh my god | do not know who allowed him to keep driving. Не was 84 with arthritis, plus he was deaf and almost blind, but he insisted on still driving. One time he parked his car on a tram track with my sister inside it. Не is the sole reason | think there should be an age limit on driving licenses. - 4.3K Share ...
Accurate-Language341 2y ago In the 80's, my father knew a family of brothers, they were well connected people. The oldest didn't trust banks and only used cash, rolls of notes as thick as your wrist. As a kid I got stuff for Christmas that fell of the back of a truck new bikes etc. If a car was stolen, it could easily be stripped for parts in hours as one brother owned a scrap yard. My dad worked with them regularly and always got paid well but never said too much about the work. 551 Share ...

User1539 2y ago My father in-law carries a gun everywhere. He's also so feeble, he can barely hold it up. I asked him to store it in my gun locker when he was at my house, and he tried to eject the magazine and then rack the slide to eject the cartridge that's always loaded ... and he really, really, struggled to pull the slide back. I thought he was going to shoot himself trying to eject that cartridge. Не also pointed it at someone who was yelling at him at a gas station because he's never been in a
