You’d think Spider-Man’s biggest fear would be getting clobbered by Sandman or losing his Uncle Ben for the umpteenth time, but that’s not the case for the latest actor to take on the teenage web-slinger. Hudson Thames, who lends his voice to Peter Parker in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, recently told Collider that his biggest fear before joining the Disney+ series was that it would be “annoying and woke.” But after reading the script, Thames said it was “great” and “so well written,” which must be a big relief for Colman Domingo and the other members of the show’s diverse cast and crew.
Marvel’s not the only crew taking a trip down memory lane with retro series. Reese Witherspoon’s on-again, off-again Legally Blonde prequel series is back on, and she revealed that they’re currently auditioning hundreds of young girls who are “so filled with enthusiasm and excitement” to take on the role of Elle Woods. The You’re Cordially Invited actress told People that it’s “kind of a trip” to be on the hunt for the younger version of herself, but that “there’s so many good ones.”
All the while, the timeline is fresh with some high-quality comedy. Today’s funniest tweets include those about the power of Vietnamese coffee, why Anderson Cooper isn’t a nepo baby and a place Mozart should’ve avoided.
