According to Puck News, four-time Oscar host Jimmy Kimmel allegedly turned down the opportunity to return for a fifth go-around in 2025. This news isn’t exactly shocking given how many times Kimmel has publicly described the gig as a challenge — and not in a good way. Many thought John Mulaney would serve as Kimmel’s successor after his work at the Governors Awards earlier this year, but the same report suggests that Mulaney also turned down the gig, citing his workload.
Colin Jost could possibly fill Kimmel’s shoes, as he hosted the Emmys in 2018, but he’ll have to solve his foot problem first. The Weekend Update anchor injured his toes and feet while reporting on this year’s Olympics from Tahiti. Jost, who is one of a number of SNL cast members at the Olympics (gotta love that corporate synergy!), has been barefoot while covering the surfing competitions, and clearly paid the price. The comedian posted a picture of his reef-ravaged feet on Instagram, joking, “This might ruin my WikiFeet score.”
