The blaze that is Glen Powell’s career continues to spread. It started with Top Gun: Maverick, spread into rom-coms with Anyone But You and Hitman, caught a second wind thanks to this weekend’s Twisters and now is sure to remain ignited courtesy of an upcoming Backdraft remake. Imagine Entertainment co-founder Brian Grazer told CNBC’s Squawk Box that a new edition of the 1991 film is in active development with Powell potentially taking on the role that Kurt Russell played in Ron Howard’s original. Add in Powell’s forthcoming “outrageous” Running Man remake, and one Twitter user joked that Powell’s method of choosing roles pretty much mirrors what movies he must have chosen to watch on HBO as a kid.

Powell was hardly the only one getting flamed online this week, though. Other digital burn victims included white women and their version of NFTs, a meal right out of Toy Story and just straight-up Ansel Elgort.
