25 of the Weirdest Questions Asked During a Job Interview

By:

Job interviews are filled with opportunities for potential employers to take advantage of the inherent power imbalance between themselves and the candidates they’re assessing. It’s not enough for you to do the little side quests of putting together a resume that you may or may not have lied on and dressing up to beg for money, but there’s a third way to feel humiliated about the entire situation as well: answering interview questions.

Employers seem to be especially proud of themselves for coming up with queries that make you feel like some kind of Truman Show test subject. For instance: “What do you think about the Reagan youth?,” which was asked during an interview for a CVS job in 2007. Or the guy who asked, “You’re not into older women, are you?” before launching into a spiel about how the last guy slept with his wife.

Redditors have recalled the strange questions they’ve been asked while on the hunt for gainful employment, and if you’re unemployed right now, please stay strong.
