It's more common than we think for people to almost never read manuals and ignore instructions. Because of our pride or anxiety, we almost always want to solve things on our own without any help, and we don't seek out a professional or expert.

We'll see people who don't know how to properly place a straw in juice, who don't understand how to open a soda can, who don't use shelf supports correctly, and even who put a closed umbrella over their head without opening it.
In many cases, ignoring the manual stems from people's confidence that nothing is too difficult for them to do themselves and an overconfidence in everyday tasks.
