Everyone knows about the Wilhelm scream: the iconic stock sound of a guy yelling that has been gracing audience ears since the 1950s. There's plenty of other iconic stock noises out there: the castle thunder sound effect, for example. 

When shows film in front of live studio audiences, the laughs and cries you hear are supposed to be authentic. Usually, they really are, but sometimes editors feel the need to… enhance their reactions a little bit. Now, I might be tripping, but I swear I've heard the same, specific little laugh across sitcoms. Maybe it's just a guy that likes to frequent famous TV sets, or perhaps it really is a stock laugh sound. Either way, these facts don't need any help from a laugh track to prove their charm.
