People that have never played videos games are often under the impression that one can simply hit pause on a game and continue later. This is true sometimes, but more often than not, it is literally impossible! Online games with other players cannot simply be stopped out of nowhere, but mostly, the issue lies in the momentum. Sure, you can technically pause Shadow of the Colossus while you're scaling a giant to find its weak spot, but it's hard to get back into the flow of things later.

But some things are worth pausing for; namely, interesting gaming facts that expand your knowledge and sharpen your mind.

Video Games in China

In China, kids' video game time is strictly limited. On week days, minors can play online games up to 90 minutes per day, but they can't play at all between 10 PM and 8 AM. On weekends, they can play for up to three hours a day. CRACKED.COM

Honestly, this should be standard everywhere.

All you have to do now is go on Reddit or watch a playthrough on YouTube…

You can still see this in the game's code, with the glitch character Missingno. being part Bird and part Normal.

Ah, yes, Charizard, my favorite type of bird.

Notre Dame

Assassin's Creed: Unity was used to help Notre Dame and people mourning it. CRACKED.COM Ubisoft gave away copies of the game to let people walk around in their recreation of it (and donated money to rebuilding efforts).

This is truly one of the most wholesome uses of video technology that I've ever seen.
