19 Science Facts From The Wrong Side Of The Tracks

There's a lot of weird feelings about science these days, but what it comes down to is facts. Whether or not there's a cabal of nefarious “experts” plotting to wrest control of society from the sheeple who blindly believe them, it has nothing to do with science itself, which is simply a framework for testing theories and gaining knowledge. In other words, getting facts.

And facts, as the more wrongheaded side enjoys pointing out, don't care about your feelings. Some parts of the natural world, laws of physics, and even our own bodies are warm and cuddly, and some of them belong in horror movies. Not even the normal ones, the truly depraved works you can only get from musty specialty video stores.

That's why u/NoRush5642 asked r/AskReddit, “What’s a scientific fact that most people would rather not know?”

So, instead, they'd just use a paralytic like curare to immobilize the child who then remained fully aware of everything that was going on.
