October was, frankly, full of too much news about Jimmy Fallon. As if his long-known but recently-declared apolitical stance wasn’t enough, Fallon seems to have taken a cue from Taylor Swift in being insufferable, bland and omnipresent.
The late-night host has fully pivoted into sponcon with his incredibly hollow venture, On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, which is constantly haunting a television near you. Fittingly, Fallon had Swift on The Tonight Show, and in a move likely inspired by the pop star, released an extended cut of the interview after its original air date.
But that’s not enough, I guess. We now also have to see his dead eyes and stretched grin in ads for the mobile game Royal Kingdom, look on as he reveals People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” and witness other ill-timed ploys for attention, like posting a YouTube video about “eating like a king” just days after a No Kings protest.
We must be released from this timeline. Until then, though, there’s always the Twitter timeline, which kept us laughing all month long. October’s funniest tweets included those about a girl keeping things private, a game of Truth or Dare and the wrong time to return to class.
