46 of the Funniest Burns from the Week of July 28, 2025
Climate change is rapidly destroying the planet, and the Las Vegas Sphere is speeding up the process by using generative A.I. to create an enlarged, shittier version of The Wizard of Oz.
The project, which claims to “improve” the classic, smooths out the signature film grain, expands the aspect ratio, creates background images for “additional context” and chops an entire 30 minutes from the original runtime. It’s a monstrosity, and Twitter’s harshest critics didn’t hesitate in saying so.
“Spending $80 on a ticket to see the Wizard of Oz look much worse than it did in 1939,” one person quipped, while another set the scene for who this movie could possibly please:
“Hey kiddo wanna watch The Wizard of Oz?”
“Hell no grandpa! That movie is so old and looks nothing like a 2000s Windows PC background.”
“Grab your coat! We’re going to the Sphere!”
The Sphere and our planet weren’t the only things getting burnt to a crisp this week, though. Other digital burn victims included Tom Cruise, Billie Eilish and Shannon Sharpe.
