The Jeffrey Epstein files have emerged as an unlikely middle ground between MAGA girlies, conspiracy theorists, resistance libs, leftists and, well, basically everyone except for the late financier’s one-time bestie, President Donald Trump. But it seems nobody wants these documents released more than actor and accused sex pest, Kevin Spacey.
Earlier this month, the ex-Netflix star took a break from reveling in disgraced obscurity to sound off on a topic near and dear to his heart: creeping on minors. In an impassioned Twitter post, Spacey, whose name appeared alongside other celebrities in a list of people associated with Epstein back in January 2024, headed to Twitter with one very specific demand for the administration. “Release the Epstein files. All of them. For those of us with nothing to fear, the truth can’t come soon enough,” he wrote before feigning a moment of faux self-awareness. “I hate to make this about me,” he insisted, “but the media already has.”
Naturally, Spacey’s post elicited a resounding “what the fuck?” from folks on the timeline, with several wondering why Spacey, who has faced multiple accusations of sexual misconduct over the years, decided to insert himself (terrible pun unavoidable) in yet another pedophile scandal.
“This is like bringing in Hannibal Lecter to catch Buffalo Bill,” one Twitter user joked. Another likened him to a weirder, creepier version of the iconic Al Pacino character from Heat, Lt. Vincent Hanna. “To catch the world’s most dangerous pedophiles… we need to bring in the best for one. last. job,” they wrote.
Spacey, however, wasn’t the only star who found themselves recently facing Twitter’s heat (this one was intentional). The wildest burns from this month included Futurama fan fics, Timothée Chalamet’s range and the whitest concert scandal of all time.
