Almost immediately after agreeing to a $1.5 billion contract extension with Paramount, Trey Parker and Matt Stone delivered a South Park episode that sent conservatives into a spiral.
“Sermon on the ‘Mount,” the first installment of the series’ 27th season, properly angered President Donald Trump to such a level that he couldn’t bear to log onto Truth Social and fire back. Instead, a press secretary stepped in to claim that the recently-renewed show is “hanging on by a thread” and “hasn’t been relevant in 20 years.”
Soon after, right-wingers logged on to give their two cents, which involved coping with the parody by saying South Park’s depiction of a small-dicked Trump in bed with Satan was “for libtards” and “went too far.” “What does it say when satire shows go from mocking presidents to openly portraying them as demonic allies? This isn’t “just comedy” anymore. This is cultural programming,” one dork tweeted.
Parker and Stone, meanwhile, are unfazed. During Thursday’s Comic-Con panel, the pair were asked how they feel about the response they’ve received in the 24 hours since the episode aired. “We’re terribly sorry,” Parker deadpanned, before explaining their decision to put googly eyes on Trump’s micropenis.
