56 of the Funniest Burns from the Week of July 7, 2025
Garfield’s love for lasagna is one of his most widely known traits, but Chris Pratt, the most recent voice actor of the fat feline, apparently never got the memo.
On Tuesday, Pratt took to social media to announce the upcoming Garfield sequel in a video. In the eight-second clip, the Jurassic World star walks into the room with a stack of pizzas, and uncovers one of the pies to reveal Garfield 2 written on it. Immediately, people on Twitter were infuriated by the implications and called for justice.
“Doing this with pizza instead of lasagna is so dark. A deep insult to the audience. It’s not even like one of those ‘do something obviously dumb for attention and engagement’ moves. It feels hostile,” one Twitter user ranted.
“I believe Pratt hates everything Garfield stands for. As a newly fit person he finds Garfield’s gluttony and sloth repulsive instead of relatable. He finds his contentious relationship with Odie and Nermal unchristian. Garfield’s fear of spiders, a form of cowardice. Garfield is for us, the common man. The lasagna lovers. The Monday-haters. We deserve better,” another declared.
That said, Pratt was just one of many targets eyed by the timeline this week. Other digital burn victims included The Bloodhound Gang, people from Massachusetts and anyone who saw Despicable Me in theaters.
