56 of the Funniest Tweets from the Week of June 23, 2025
This week was a mixed bag for Joe Rogan.
On Monday, Marc Maron began the WTF podcast by conceding victory to anti-woke comics. Though he didn’t name names, Maron’s rant acknowledged that all of the comedians who’ve gone out of their way to punch down on marginalized communities while complaining that they “can’t say what they want” have accomplished exactly what they set out to do.
“When do you stop doing the jokes? I mean, you won, you broke it. You broke a lot of people. When do we stop doing the jokes? All that DEI stuff, that threatening, horrible sort of idea of trying to make democracy work? It’s all gone. You did it. You did it, fellas.”
While Maron admitted defeat in the war against Joe Rogan and his ilk, Brian “The Liver King” Johnson refused to back down. In a series of baffling threats to Rogan on Instagram, the raw-meat enthusiast and fitness influencer challenged the podcast host to fight him, saying, “I have no training in jiu-jitsu; you’re a black belt, you should dismantle me. But I’m picking a fight with you.”
Though Austin police arrested and charged Johnson with terroristic threats, he’s already gotten out on bond and returned to social media — as any true poster would.
Speaking of which, the Twitter timeline is also full of true posters, and as always, they spent the last seven days firing off some hilarious tweets. This week’s best included those about the illusion of free choice, an eternal question and why rent is so expensive.
