During a recent sitdown with Variety, the FXX star revealed that he once had his doubts about the now-iconic comedienne after she accidentally “left out the funniest line” during her otherwise “awesome” It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia audition. “I don’t know if her instincts were 100 percent right, because she left out the funniest line,” he explained. “Now, is it a coincidence that I happened to write that line? I was 26 years old, and probably very precious with what I was writing.”
