As evidenced by his elaborate Nathan for You schemes, his detailed approach to crafting an exact replica of Brooklyn’s Alligator Lounge and the entire monstrosity that was the “Claw of Shame” stunt, Nathan Fielder is all about going above and beyond in committing to the bit. The exception to this once-ironclad rule, however, is his most recent livestream promoting The Rehearsal’s upcoming second season.
On Friday, Fielder headed to HBO’s Instagram account to make good on his promise of going live for “12 hours straight” on the TV network’s Instagram page. But after tuning in, fans quickly noticed Fielder wasn’t answering questions. He was offering sparse “alrights” “awesomes” and coy sips of his canned beverage in what appeared to be an equally-canned two-minute loop.
As Fielder predictably teases his fans, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Megan Ganz is actually giving viewers what they want, and auctioning off a “mystery bundle” of several T-shirts seen throughout the long-running series’ 17 seasons. “Bid on them now and you can wear them when you hang out in your party mansion,” the FXX producer captioned an Instagram post of the pile of Sunny-spotted shirts.
