23 Things People Bought As Adults Because They Were Denied Them As Children

Build-A-Bear is most commonly associated with children’s parties and legal disputes involving off-brand Squishmallows, but one Redditor discovered that it can also be an overpriced haven for adults looking to connect with their inner child.
After being denied the experience of creating their own stuffed animal as a kid — “I had always wanted one growing up but was always told no because it was too expensive,” they recalled — Binabear94 took matters into their own hands, headed to the store and made their own bear. “It may be silly to others, but sometimes your inner child just needs something to feel safe and comforted when life gets overwhelming,” they explained of their very worth-it purchase. “Don’t let anyone take away what brings you joy!”
Other Redditors also admitted to reviving their youth with a little bit of retail therapy, including late-in-life purchases like guitars, braces and the highly-coveted 64-count box of Crayola crayons.
