To most people, “a good day” would entail a nice cup of coffee, a long walk on a warm spring day or going more than a few hours without some horrible news from the White House. Clint Howard isn’t most people.
The Gentle Ben star recently opened up about his single-episode stint as a serial killer on Seinfeld, revealing that a combination of unseasonably warm temperatures and some good news left his sitcom co-stars in a particularly joyous mood during his day on set. “The day that I did ‘The Smog Strangler’ — the one day that I worked on Seinfeld — it was the day after they found out, it was announced that Seinfeld had gotten picked up for another season,” he recalled. “I caught the group on a good day, and creatively, they were all awesome.”
As Howard reminisced on the joy of Seinfeld, Terry Gilliam clarified that Monty Python has seen the last of their good days, shutting down the possibility of a reunion. “People say, ‘Wouldn’t it be great for Python to get together again?’ It would be pointless to get together again!” he told the BBC, citing several now-dearly departed members of the beloved British comedy troupe. “It wouldn’t work. It was a magical chemical balance. It was spectacular.”
It’s hard to look on the bright side of this sad confirmation, but we can still laugh at the day’s most hilarious tweets, the best of which poke fun at kangaroo markets, stolen whiskey and an argument for reviving Norm Macdonald.
