50 of the Funniest Tweets from the Week of January 27, 2025

The Sundance Film Festival kicked off this week, meaning ‘tis the season for successful entries inspiring insane bidding wars and Oscar talk. One of the biggest success stories out of this year’s lineup is a rather unsuspecting indie darling: If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. Conan O’Brien is receiving rave reviews for his “stroke of genius” performance in the quirky dramedy, giving us yet another reason to love the late-night host.
The festival also brought the posthumous release of Pee-wee as Himself, a two-part biographical docu-series on the late Paul Reubens and his Pee-wee Herman persona. Part of the 40 hours of interviews conducted by Matt Wolf included a less-than-shocking revelation about Reubens’ sexuality.
In more predictable news, John Cleese revealed that he’s leaving Twitter… again… for real this time. The Monty Python actor posted a video on the timeline to announce that he’s leaving the social media platform owned by “you know who” in favor of his own Substack. We will now see how long it takes for him to return to Twitter to start another fight.
Thankfully, these Twitter users won’t be leaving the app any time soon. This week’s funniest tweets included a slippery question, a dying request and the real purpose of watching TV.
