Conan O’Brien is about to add another feather to his illustrious cap.
The comedian and soon-to-be Oscar host will be honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor this year, joining the likes of Jon Stewart, David Letterman and *checks notes* Jay Leno. O’Brien riffed on the award’s namesake in a statement, remarking, “I am honored to be the first winner of the Mark Twain Prize recognized not for humor, but for my work as a riverboat pilot.”
While Roy Wood Jr. may not have gotten to sit in the big chair during his time on The Daily Show, he’s adding a different hosting gig to his resume: helming the 77th Annual Writers Guild Awards. These particular trophies will be delivered concurrently on both coasts, with Wood Jr. receiving support from a fleet of presenters that include Ronny Chieng, Cole Escola and Cory Michael Smith.
