30 Funny Times Someone Had No Clue How the World Works

It can be a real treat to watch a delusional person grapple with the ways of the world. One Redditor had a front row seat to the show of a lifetime when a college kid kept yelling “Do you know who my father is?!?!” as he was getting arrested. While such a level of perceived entitlement certainly has worked for the more privileged among us, the question doesn’t carry the same weight coming from the son of an Upstate New York used car salesman who is getting arrested in Massachusetts

Hell, this tactic wouldn’t even work in Schenectady. Predictably, his secondhand legacy left the police unimpressed, and he was booked anyway.

Other Redditors have recounted the funniest times they’ve witnessed a harsh reality check — from someone who couldn’t change a light bulb to a guy who sincerely believed credit cards were “free money.”

reallifegarnet 7y ago My little brother who was (and I fear still kinda is) adamant that he would grow up to be an actor all through high school without trying to pursue any acting related things. Quit drama club freshman year and never looked back. Didn't work towards getting into an acting program in college. Spent more time on his video games than acting, but I guess he was just banking on being discovered and put into roles due to handsomeness. It's hard enough to make that dream work for people who are actually trying. 4.2K ...

j_duhh 4y ago My friend's dad is part owner of a very large and successful Ford dealership, so she's never had to worry about or fully comprehend money. When she was filling out her FAFSA, she had to indicate the size and general value of her dad's company, and she said, it's worth less than $100,000, right? I had to explain to her, with the very limited knowledge of businesses that I had, that the business was worth much more than $100,000 and that that's not that much money in terms of a business. She also thought that her father's

She has no concept of how public* transportation works.

jmsturm 7y ago My cousin and I were talking one day and and I mentioned that had a horrible sense of direction, where my brother could be dropped off in a cornfield and find his way home. She replied that it was easy to find your direction, just remember Never Eat Shredded Wheat and you will know where North is. I laughed and said that was for remembering the directions in order, not for finding which way was which. We argued for 20 minutes till I told her to show me how it works.
