35 Random But Impressive Skills People Have

Impressive skills aren’t always useful. As a kid, I wanted to be ambidextrous — not because it’s more productive, but because it’s cool and I wanted to show off. Though my dream of ambidexterity was never realized, I’m now old and wise enough to know that there’s a whole world of freaky little pointless skills out there, and Redditors, of course, possess many of them.

One bragged about being able to write upside-down, backward and mirrored, while another boasted that they can count the number of letters in a sentence as it’s being spoken.

Sure, you may roll your eyes at these seemingly insignificant displays of expertise, but one of these Redditors can vibrate their eyes, which beats an eye roll every time.

Ornery-Assignment-42 2d ago I can sound like I'm talking backwards. One time when I was a teenager I walked into a room talking, which was something my parents always told us not to do. They exclaimed David! and I knew immediately what I'd done so I reversed, walking backwards out of the room and did an imitation of backwards talking, something I'd heard messing around with a turntable. I got a big laugh, and so since then, and it's been many years, I've been doing it at select times. + 41 Reply ...
MasteringTheFlames 2d ago Tell me any date past or future and I can tell you what day of the week it is. It's rather useless because I usually can't figure it out faster than looking it up, but you did ask for impressive rather than useful. 22 Reply ...

Edited 9y ago I can move almost every muscle under my hair (at least the top part of my head) so I can make my hair move back and forth by an inch or two and pretty quickly, about the speed you can raise your eyebrows. I didnt think it was a big deal until I once did it in front of a friend. She was amazed and had me do it infront of others and everyone was freakin out.

OkConsideration7721 2d ago Edited 2d ago I can pee for a long distance. The talent has waned as I've gotten older, but I'm still able to piss for about 15 feet. Used to be able to piss across a two lane roadway. Edit: I'm a man (though it would be insanely impressive if I were a woman). 47 years old now, but around 21 (when a boy's thoughts turn to alcohol consumption) it became a post-party trick for the friends.
