According to Mean Girls, Halloween is “the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut, and no other girls can say anything about it.” But for the extremely online and very gay, Halloween means something else entirely. Namely, it’s the one night a year when we can dress as the sexy version of a niche, but iconic reference, and go viral on Twitter while pretending to hate the entire ordeal. 

In the incredibly hungover aftermath of Halloweekend, several members of the LGBTQ+ community headed to Twitter to offer a glimpse at their costumes, with fits ranging from the cursed sexy (Legs from Toy Story), the punny (the amyl nitrite-scented “Princess and the Popper”) and the absolutely outrageous (who knew Monstro Elisasue could look so cunty?).
