Contrary to popular belief, Will Smith stunk in Men in Black — literally. Barry Sonnenfeld, who directed the 1997 intergalactic hit, shared an on-set anecdote about Smith that just might make you sick to your stomach. During an appearance on Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, the director revealed that Smith passed gas while filming a scene with Tommy Lee Jones in a “hermetically sealed” car, and the smell was so bad that they “evacuated the stage for about three hours.” Maybe David Schwimmer would’ve been the better choice after all. 

Over on the blue carpet, the Independent Spirit Awards has chosen its next host. Or better put, re-chosen its next host, as Saturday Night Live alum Aidy Bryant will once again oversee the festivities. Josh Welsh, President of Film Independent, the nonprofit arts organization behind the awards ceremony, explained the decision thusly: “After her unforgettable turn last year, we can once again anticipate an evening filled with laughter, inspiration and recognition of excellence.” The laughter in question came via roasts of nominees like Charles Melton and Natalie Portman — a style that Bryant will almost certainly repeat early next year.
