Marvel is getting ready for a big Deadpool & Wolverine payout this weekend as the R-rated superhero jaunt is projected to earn about $200 million at the domestic box office. But despite such colossal projections, critics who have already seen the movie are divided. Some have called it “the most fun you’ll have in theaters,” while others have deemed it a tepid, tacky and “soulless cash grab.” The battle on social media between die-hard fanboys and ardent MCU haters promises to be equally fierce.
Not that the outcome matters much to Ryan Reynolds’ body of work. As one Twitter user already pointed out, Deadpool & Wolverine will merely be the latest addition to what could be “the worst filmography” ever.
If it makes Reynolds feel any better, though, that was hardly the meanest thing offered up on the timeline this week. Other digital burn victims included Ed Norton’s head, an indecipherable picture and the power of tiny water bottles.
